We often have couples asking for those raw, candid moments that show real smiles and interactions – nothing fake or too posed. WE LOVE REAL EMOTIONS. These two were such good sports going along with all our goofy prompts!
How do we capture our couples being their natural selves? We start by giving you simple instructions like ‘cuddle up’ or ‘give her a bear hug’ and then offer little prompts. We might give you something to talk about or a silly game to play with the goal of helping you to focus on each other, relax together, and make some memories having fun and laughing. We like to think of a pose as a starting point that inspires natural moments of affection and interaction that are natural to you so that when you look at your photos you see something you recognize – your relationship – whether that be the familiar smile you love to see cross his face or the crinkle in her nose as she laughs at you.
We had a fun opportunity to do this with Lauren and Taylor while testing a new lens at Workshop Studios in YYC with Kaihla Tonai’s Curated Club! Lauren, who is very much at home in the pottery studio, spent some quality time with her man, Taylor, as the two shared some classic diner food in this lifestyle/couples shoot. You can check out some of Lauren’s beautiful handmade pottery by looking up @fromtreetosea on Instagram!
